The Zoeva Makeup Artist Zoe Bag – Rose Golden Vol.3

For those of you that don’t already know – I am OBSESSED with Zoeva products, and without a doubt I believe that their brushes are one of the best that’s out there, both in terms of quality, functionality, price and style.

Having quite a few brushes already, I decided to buy this so that I could keep this just for personal use, and my other brushes for clients only. A good excuse to buy more, but a valid reason too don’t you think? 🙂

Introducing you to none other than the incredible Zoeva Makeup Artist Zoe Bag in Rose Golden Vol.3. Prepare to fall in love!

The packaging is gorgeous – just look at the sleek and classic box it comes in:

The brushes themselves are packed in a leather bag that’s placed inside a material bag. Even that looks pretty 🙂 The lid of the box, when open, along with the material bag can be seen below:

Inside the material bag, is a classy and professional looking leather bag. This not only has place for all 30 brushes, but also a decent amount of storage for other makeup items and tools. The perfect make up bag!

Just stop and take a look at the detail of it 🙂 (yes, i am obsessed with this!)

The bag comes in 3 sections that can be zipped up individually. This is what the first section looks like when you open it. Plenty of storage for additional brushes or makeup. I’m currently using this for storing my cotton buds/pads, facial wipes, brush cleaner, tissues, setting sprays and foundations.

Some palettes can also be stored here if the items you place in the sections are not that bulky.

This is the third section (will get to the second / middle section next!) The ideal place for storing some extra brushes, powders, concealers, mascaras, eye and lip pencils and blush and eye shadow pots.

You’re covered with everything – from the base, to the cheeks, lips and detailed eye looks. No need to buy anything else 🙂

Let’s take a quick look at the larger brushes. There are various foundation brushes – flat, buffing and stippling, as well a nice fluffy powder brush, another that’s more precise and two blush brushes – an angled and a fluffy one. There’s a great brush for precise contouring as well as a fluffier one, a small setting brush,  for highlighting a fan brush and a fluffier one too. For the full list see here.

And now the smaller brushes. A great selection of concealer buffing brushes, a large base brush, various crease and blending brushes, more precise liner and detailed brushes and of course a lip brush.

The Zoeva Makeup Artist Zoe Bag – Rose Golden Vol.3

This currently retails for €245! Maybe it’s a lot of money at one go but see it this way – you get an amazing storage bag that comes along with it which sells separately for €50, so making each brush cost €6.50 on average. That’s a winner if you ask me 🙂

Latest Skin Care Loves

I’m not one to experiment much with skin care.

My skin has been tricky to handle since I was about 12 years old with stubborn acne all throughout adulthood which could mostly only be treated with medication. Now that its clear at the age of 30 (fingers crossed!) I tend to stick with what I know works for me and not irritate my skin too much. Read more about this here.

That being said, every once in while I do try ‘safe products’ (i.e. those that probably won’t bring about spots, such as a cleanser or a moisturizer in my case), which brings me to two new amazing products I’ve tried lately:

The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Mattifying Toner

As my t-zone tends to get greasy at times, I was on the look out for an effective, yet non-irritating toner that could tackle the oiliness. Upon stumbling in The Body Shop for a gift for a friend, this caught my eye.

Tea Tree oil, known for its antiseptic and antibacterial properties intrigued me as that seemed like a good solution to addressing oily skin and the bacteria that brings about the formation of spots in the first place.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearning Mattifying oner

I noticed a very positive reaction to this quite early on in using it. At first, it did make my skin tingle a bit, but after a couple of applications that sensation completely went. I use this twice daily and apply it in circular, upward motion all on my face and leave it to dry before proceeding with moisturizer.

Caution: Do not use this on the sensitive eye area and on broken or irritated skin!

I just love the fresh feeling it brings about! The small is lovely and really does dry out the excess oil without making the skin flaky and dull.

Yes to Blueberries Fine Lines & Wrinkles Face & Neck Oil

This next product is something very new to me. Using oil on skin that can oily and prone to breakouts? That sounded quite scary to me! However, I decided to give it a shot and just loved the results.

Yes to Blueberries Face & Neck Oil

One of the prescribed medications I take for me skin is a gel that can really dry out the skin. Whilst that’s great for controlling acne, it can leave the skin looking dry and irritated, especially in cold weather.

I use this around 1-2 times weekly and only before going to bed and it does make the skin look like a greasy disco ball! That being said, by the morning all oil would have been absorbed and left my skin looking extremely healthy and youthful.

I got this from Beauty Bay should any of you be interested to try this 🙂

What about you? Have you tried these products, or what’s been working for you lately? I’d love to hear what you have to say!

I’m Back! :)

Hi all!

I really have missed being here 🙂

It’s been about 10 months…can’t believe it!

A lot of changes in my personal life happened this year – some good, some bad. But ultimately now all has fallen into place and makes sense again. I think I just wasn’t in the mind frame or ‘had the time’ to blog whilst going through a lot of changes.

Anyway, now I’m back and can’t wait to start blogging again. There’s so much to update you on – I’m so excited!! I also can’t wait to catch up with everyone and all your latest posts. So sorry I missed so many 😦

Next posts will follow in about a week or so every Tuesday & Thursday to tart off with 🙂

See you all very soon 🙂

Have a great Sunday xxxx

Make Up Revolution Blush Palette Series: All About Cream

Make up Revolution is such an awesome brand. Their products are of great quality and they’re just so affordable. It’s a win win!

The All About Cream blusher palette is definitely no exception to this either.

Make Up Revolution Blusher Palette: All About Cream

Packaging: A sturdy glossy black palette that firmly snaps shut, securely holding in eight beautiful creamy blusher shades. The only downfall of this packaging is the glossiness – it marks terribly with fingerprints and drives me crazy! Thankfully, it’s not too hard to clean off.

Shades: All eight shades are seriously pigmented and glide on like a dream. There’s a beautiful mix of warm and cool toned pinks, corals and peach shades that are all so blendable and look great on application.

A word of caution though – these do need to be applied gently! Their pigmentation is so intense that it’s really best to start off slowly and build up gradually.

In such circumstances, I tend to use stippling brushes as they apply colour gently, however you may also use your fingers too. After application, setting them with a translucent powder will really keep them in place all day long.

Cost: As with all the other Make up Revolution palettes, these are of great value. They sell at just £6.00 on their website so there really is no reason not to try one out!

A wonderful palette with beautiful shades that are guaranteed to suit most skin tones, this too is definitely one to try out.

Have you got this? What do you think of it?

Zoeva ‘En Taupe’ Eye Shadow Palette

For those of you who have been following my blog for a while, you’ll have noticed that I have a bit of an obsession with these Zoeva eye shadow palettes.

I started off with one, then I just had to have the whole set as they were so affordable…oops! I thought they were done, but then another one came out! How can you have an incomplete set?! This OCD is a problem 🙂

So here is the latest in the collection, Zoeva’s ‘En Taupe’ Eye shadow palette:

Zoeva's 'En Taupe' Eye Shadow Palette

Zoeva’s ‘En Taupe’ Eye Shadow Palette

Packaging: As with all the others in the set, this comes in a sleek cardboard packaging with an identical sleeve, weighing in only at 1.5g which makes it great for travel and doesn’t take up too much storage space.

I love the design of this one – a mixture of taupe shades with a cool line design that throws off gorgeous metallic colours when it hits the light.

Shades: Ten beautiful shades, all creamy in texture and super soft and buttery to the touch. There are 4 matte shades and 6 shimmery shades. Let’s take a look in more detail shall we?

Top Row, Left to Right:

  • Stitch By Stitch: A basic matte white that’s great for the base, inner corner or brow highlight.
  • Handmade: A stunning shimmery golden shade that’s perfect for adding some sparkle to the lid.
  • Gallery: A smoky matte medium taupe shade that’s great for both the base or as a transition shade.
  • Hour By Hour: A beautiful matte dusty pink shade. So pretty as a base and transition shade too.
  • Old Master: A subtle grey that’s perfect for a soft smoky eye.

Bottom Row, Left to Right:

  • Spun Pearl: A super shimmery pearl shade that makes a great highlight.
  • Sheers & Voiles: Another shimmery shade in a soft light grey.
  • Outline: An intense metallic purple-taupe shade that’s perfect for the outer corner.
  • Wrapped in Silk: A deeper version of Sheers & Voiles – a pretty metallic dark grey.
  • Exquisite: A matte deep purple shade that’s one of my favourites.

Formula: All shades are soft and silky however I was a bit disappointed with the high amount of fall out. Also, not all shades are very intense, however these can easily be built up.

Cost: Like all the others in the set, these retail at only €17.50.

Verdict: I really like this, however I would have preferred less fall out. That being said, I found the shades to be rather unique and just love the colour combinations that can be made with this.

Nars Audacious Lipstick: Deborah

The winter season is now in full swing (despite still some sunny and warm days here) and now that the festive season is over it’s time to put aside the red lipsticks, just for a little bit, and move on to other winter colours.

Having been very MAC lipstick obsessed the last two years, I really wanted to try out some other brands as soon as I saw this beautiful colour on Annie’s Beauty, I just knew I had to have it.

Introducing to you, Nars Audacious Lipstick in the shade Deborah.

Packaging: A sleek matte black 4.2g tub that closes magnetically and has ‘Nars’ written in glossy black around the bottom part. This is enclosed nicely in a matching cardboard casing.

Shade & Texture: The lipstick itself is just gorgeous – I love how perfectly the brand name is written on it too. A gorgeous vampy, rich brown shade that’s matte, yet not drying on the lips and super long lasting.

This shade may not be for everyone, but I definitely believe it does look great on all skin tones. True, it is very daring, however the intensity can easily be built up or toned down as needed.

For a really intense shade, wear by itself or with a lip liner underneath, and for a more subtle look, dab off excess product and pop on some clear gloss. Gorgeous either way!

Cost: Nars lipsticks do not come cheap and retail around €33 with shipping. That being said, the colour intensity and longevity just make it so worth it!

I love this! Such a unique shade that really is worth trying out if you’re looking for something a little bit different!

Make Up Revolution Blush Palette Series: All About Pink

I ♥ Pink Blushers!

They’re just so pretty and feminine and look great on all skin tones as they give such a natural flush of colour.

If pink blush is what you’re after then you definitely need to try out the Make up Revolution Blush Palette in ‘All About Pink’.

Eight beautiful colours of different shades of pink! Simply a gorgeous and pretty palette:

All shades are rather pigmented, although not as much as the shades found in their Sugar & Spice palette. I found that some of the shades had quite a bit of fall out but transferred onto the skin very nicely. For a more intense shade, reapplication will be necessary though, particularly on darker skin tones.

Like the other MR palettes, each one of these sell for £6.00 which is great value for the amount of shades that you get as well as the overall colour pay-off. They’re also super handy when travelling as their slim packaging barely takes up any space.

Have you tried this palette? What do you think of it?
