There’s nothing better than the look and feel of skin that’s just been exfoliated!
Exfoliating gets rid of all the dead skin cells that accumulate on your skin over time. Getting rid of this instantly makes your skin look brighter, healthier and radiant.
It’s particularly beneficial for your face as all the build up of pollution and make up residue over time can make your skin look a bit dull, so if you’re not one to scrub regularly, then you’ll be amazed at the instant benefits!
Just a note to make: If you have acne or spots that are very sore or sensitive, then it might be better to refrain from doing this until your skin has cleared up. The scrubbing may irritate your skin or cause bacteria to spread thereby making your skin condition worse. That being said, if you’ve gone ahead and scrubbed already and had a break out, it should clear up in a few days if you keep away from scrubbing further.
This leads to me the latest facial scrub that I’ve been using – the ‘Yes To Grapefruit’ daily facial scrub.
Packaging: A 112ml plastic squeeze tub with a tightly secure lid (so no product fall out) with colourful, friendly-designed packaging.
Scent: A super fruity pink grapefruit smell. It’s quite an intense smell so it might not be for you if you dislike scented products. The scent does dulls down once washed off though.
Texture: This is a daily scrub so it’s quite mild in texture, but it’s still quite effective. It’s a transparent thick liquid that contains small white circles which are the exfoliators. When scrubbed on the skin it does foam up slightly.
Good Stuff: I’m a big fan of natural and organic products, and love this as it’s made up of 99% natural ingredients. It also does not contain any Parabens, Petroleum and SLS. That’s a winner in my books!
Also contains Lemon Balm, which is a cleansing herbal extract and Grapefruit, which is also a natural source of citrus. This helps to correct and repair uneven skin tones and to enhance a radiant complexion.
Application: Like with most facial exfoliating products, start by wetting the face with warm water (this opens up your pores), squirt out a dollop of product and massage gently on your skin, then rinse off.
Cost: I got this off BeautyBay for €9.30 which also includes shipping cost. A little product goes a long way, however how long it lasts depends on how often you use it. Overall, not bad value for money, especially considering it’s a natural product, which unfortunately, these usually tend to be on the pricier side.
Verdict: This is a great scrub. It really does make the skin look radiant instantly and did not irritate my skin at all. I am prone to spots at times and exfoliating generally aggravates that for me, but this was very gentle to my skin and made it look great. I love how even though the exfoliating beads are very small, they’re still highly effective, so it’s good for every day use but still kind to the skin. I’m not a big fan of the scent – it’s not bad, just a bit too overpowering, but it’s not a big deal for me really.
Very good product, and great as it’s natural and free of junk! (Parabens, Petroleum and SLS).
