It’s no secret that I’m a big lover of MAC make up however I had recently forgotten about their foundations.
A couple of weeks ago though, when we organised a photo shoot for a client of ours, I couldn’t help but notice that the make up artists there had about 7 different shades of MAC Face & Body foundation. I had to ask her about them!
She praised this foundation so much – it’s light and keeps the skin looking like skin, if you know what I mean. Even though it’s light, it’s also quite buildable and is great for photography as it has no SPF that causes that white cast look.
Obviously, I got mine out again from storage and tried it out another time.
Packaging: A 50ml (also available in 120ml) plastic squeeze bottle that comes packaged in a black box that has the shade stickered on at the top.
Texture: Super light and quite runny in consistency as you can see from the photo below.
Shade: The shade I have is in C3. Yes, it is too dark for me at the moment, I’m aware! It’s one of my Summer foundations 🙂
Application: This foundation is super light so it’s great for those who have very clear skin. If yours is less than perfect, you can easily build it up 2 or 3 times to bring about more coverage. As it’s so light, it will not end up looking cakey.
Cost: From MAC website, the 50ml foundation currently sells for about £21.50 / €30.00 and the 120ml one for about £28.50 / €40.00.
Verdict: This is quite a good foundation in my opinion, however in general I tend to prefer foundations that give a heavier coverage as I love my skin to look flawless. However this is perfect for me when I’m having a good skin day or else want a soft and natural coverage that will stay put on a hot day.
It’s easy to build up however it will not completely conceal very harsh imperfections. Using concealer and a good face powder will help a lot though.
That being said, if you’ve got great skin or love a light coverage then this one comes highly recommended!
