MAC powders are one of my favourites. They set my make up beautifully and keep my face from getting oily throughout the day. Recently, I mentioned my MAC MSF Natural Powder in Light which I use to set my under eye concealer, however I also love to use MAC’s Mineralise Skin Finish Powder in Medium Plus for the rest of my face to create a distinction from the under eye area.
Packaging: This is the new packaging for MAC’s MSF range. It looks sleeker than the previous one but is also a bit bulkier and is not see through so you can’t see which shade you have – which is only an issue really if you have more than one kind. It also comes with a mirror inside unlike the previous packaging.
Personally, I feel this looks a lot nicer and the mirror is handy if you’re carrying it around, but I really do miss seeing what colour I’ve got. Guess I’ll start storing these face down instead!
Shade: The medium plus is beautiful and easily used on most skin tones. When I’m at my palest or if using a foundation that is a bit too light (it happens!) I use this to quickly warm up my face, and it still leaves it looking natural.
That being said, it’s also looks great when I’ve got my fake tan on and am a lot darker. So I can pretty much say that this is a very easy shade to work with.
Texture: Just like the MAC MSF in Light, this too is super smooth and velvety. It’s easy to apply and blends in well leaving a very natural looking finish.
Cost: This is the same as the light version. It currently sells for around €31.50 online. I’m starting to get close to hitting pan and I’ve used this nearly everyday for about a year now so this definitely is worth the cost I believe!
Verdict: It’s obvious that I love these powders! They have a good coverage, are not drying, do not crease and settle in fine lines, and stay on quite well for a whole day at work. I’d love to see how these compare to their Studio Fix powder though. Can any of you let me know how they differ?
Have a great weekend everyone! xxx
