Lately, I’ve been going through a lot of my old make up and rediscovering some great products that I once loved. In my previous post, I spoke about some Guerlain products and today I’ll be going through my old Dior collection.
I was quite a big fan of Dior back in the day, and collected a couple of products along the way: two eye shadow palettes, two blushers and one lipstick.
I love Dior’s eye shadow palettes as all the five shades beautifully complement each other.
On the right is Sylish Move 970 that has the most gorgeous pink, mauve and plum shades, and on the left is Pearl Glow that has a combination of pink, purple, blue and greys. Both are perfect for colourful and intense eye looks for both day and evening and are super pigmented that stay on for ages without really any need of a primer.
The lipstick Dior Addict Pink Empress 359 is a pretty mid-tone pink that’s just perfect for Spring and Summer. Whilst I love the colour when swatched, unfortunately when I apply it, I find it a bit too frosted for my liking. It also has that unpleasant “granny lipstick” kind of smell which I really dislike!
Below are a couple of swatches of these products. The eye shadows are just beautiful and I’ll definitely be reusing these again in the coming days. Unfortunately, the lipstick will probably remain unused! I might however, try and combine it with another lip colour to see what happens.
Now on to the blushers! I just love these. On the left, Rosebud which is a gorgeous pink shade, and on the right, Nude Tan, one of the most beautiful bronzed blushers I have ever used till today.
Of course, the packaging for all these is just divine. The only thing I dislike is how the packaging for the eye shadows is the same for the blusher – confusing if you have everything stored together! Any way, it’s not really that much of a big deal though as it is really pretty packaging! I especially love the silver compact which I’ll be using as a mirror once I finish it.
Yes, my Nude Tan is in a horrendous state! However, there’s no way I can throw it out as the colour is just so beautiful. Need to get using this one – it will probably be one of the very first blushers I actually finish completely!
Both of these are just lovely colours and stay on very well throughout the day. I also find that these are two very classic shades and can really complement almost any skin tone.
Below, you can see how these swatch. Beautiful right?
I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing my old Dior make up! As exciting as it is buying new make up, it’s always fun digging old products out again and remembering how you used to apply make up differently. Quite a nostalgic feeling 🙂
Have you rediscovered any old collections lately?
