By now, those of you that follow my blog, will know that I really love Zoeva! Their brushes are just amazing, but they also have very good make-up. Although their range isn’t that big, they’ve got a good selection that’s worth trying out.
One of my make up purchases from them is their Metallic Stones Eye Shadow Palette:
Packaging: A 38g sleek palette that’s matte black and super slim, and comes in a glossy black box with replicated packaging. This palette opens upwards to reveal 28 gorgeous shimmer shades, all covered with a thin plastic film. I love the look and feel of the packaging.
The only thing that bothers me is that it tends to get dirty and marked with fingerprints really easy. What’s worse is that it’s really difficult to clean off – as you can see in the photo!
Texture: These shadows are quite nice to the touch. They’re not the smoothest I’ve come across but they’re not too stiff either. There is a bit of fall-out but not too much which is always a good thing.
Shades: This palette contains 28 beautiful shades, ranging from very pale to quite dark. There’s a great mix of both warm and cool toned shades which results in a varied range to choose from. You can pretty much find anything in this – blues, purples, greens, browns, you name it!
The only downfall is that these are not as pigmented as they look. When swatched with a finger the colour comes out really strong, but when applied it’s quite soft. Nice for a day look, but you’ll really need to layer it for an impactful evening look. That being said, they do intensify a bit if applied wet.
Above you can see a close up of all the pretty shades found in the palette!
The above shows swatches of the top two rows.
Lastly, the photo above shows swatches of the bottom two rows.
Cost: At the time of purchase, this sold for a modest €18.95. Rather good for so many shades if you ask me!
Verdict: This is a very pretty palette, but not really one of my favourites. The colours look gorgeous, but can be a bit too soft for an evening look. They’re lovely for day time though if you’re looking for a subtle look. They are also very shimmery though so if that’s not your things then stay clear from this.
Personally I’m not to keen on very shimmery shades, but I do like these for adding a pop of sparkle on the inner eye corner and eye lid.
A good palette, however not necessarily a must-have, however for the price, you can’t really go wrong!
