Refreshing Rose Water

Rose water has once again become a staple in my daily skin care routine.

Having used it frequently many years ago, I somehow just stopped. However, I was recently reminded about it from the lovely Stephie Estie in one of her posts a couple of weeks back. I rushed out to buy one again and quickly fell in love with toners once more.

The one I’m currently using is the rose water from Roberts as it was the first very one I ever tried and grew up watching my mother use it.

Packaging & Benefits

The Italian packaging on this royal blue plastic bottle (300ml) essentially states that applying the product on cotton pads after cleansing will help refresh and tone the skin, close pores and prevent against any redness or irritations on even the most sensitive of skins.

I find that not only does it help with all this, but it also effectively removes any remaining make up that I may still have after cleansing. It’s also very handy for cleansing the neck and behind the ears – despite having a shower beforehand, I find it surprising at how much make up still remains, particularly on the neck!

Best of all, I love the cooling and refreshing feeling this leaves on the skin!

Did you know? This rose tonic water is made from the Centiflora rose petal and distilled in spring water, which probably explains why it’s so delicate on the skin.

Application & Scent

This is best applied after the skin has been cleansed and before moisturiser is applied. It’s subtle and soothing scent of roses will leave your skin feeling refreshed and smooth without any dryness or tightening of the skin.

Retailing at a modest €2.00 it’s definitely worth a try.

Having used this for the last couple of weeks, I can definitely say that I’m glad to be using it again. It makes my skin feel a lot cleaner without any harshness and leaves a nice refreshing feeling.

Are then any others that you can recommend?

I have been wanting to try out Rose water for quite sometime. Stephanie recommended one to me but I can’t quite remember the name. I keep hearing about it too. It’s by Mario Badescu! That’s it I think! I really love the scent of Roses too and would love to try something like this out sometime. 🙂 xo

  2. So glad that you rekindled your love with toners, especially rosewater ones. I’m glad this one worked for you and that it’s not drying. It is amazing what is left over even after you wash your face, right? Thanks for the link-back. 🙂

  3. Yes, I always focus on my neck area when I use my micellar water / toner since it’s hard to wash that area with my oil cleanser.
Most of the toner mists I use are rose water based – I really wonder if I should just go with pure rose water and get the same effect? This is so inexpensive and I love the bottle packaging – looks so old school apothecary!

    • Yes very true, it’s hard cleaning that area. Oh it definitely is old school hehe – i remember my mum using it when i was a little girl lol. It brings back nice memories and also it’s just a simple no-frills product that does a great job. Hope you find this – would be good to see the difference!
