Make Up Revolution Blush Palette Series: All About Cream

Make up Revolution is such an awesome brand. Their products are of great quality and they’re just so affordable. It’s a win win!

The All About Cream blusher palette is definitely no exception to this either.

Packaging: A sturdy glossy black palette that firmly snaps shut, securely holding in eight beautiful creamy blusher shades. The only downfall of this packaging is the glossiness – it marks terribly with fingerprints and drives me crazy! Thankfully, it’s not too hard to clean off.

Shades: All eight shades are seriously pigmented and glide on like a dream. There’s a beautiful mix of warm and cool toned pinks, corals and peach shades that are all so blendable and look great on application.

A word of caution though – these do need to be applied gently! Their pigmentation is so intense that it’s really best to start off slowly and build up gradually.

In such circumstances, I tend to use stippling brushes as they apply colour gently, however you may also use your fingers too. After application, setting them with a translucent powder will really keep them in place all day long.

Cost: As with all the other Make up Revolution palettes, these are of great value. They sell at just £6.00 on their website so there really is no reason not to try one out!

A wonderful palette with beautiful shades that are guaranteed to suit most skin tones, this too is definitely one to try out.

Make Up Revolution Blush Palette Series: All About Pink

I ♥ Pink Blushers!

They’re just so pretty and feminine and look great on all skin tones as they give such a natural flush of colour.

If pink blush is what you’re after then you definitely need to try out the Make up Revolution Blush Palette in ‘All About Pink’

Eight beautiful colours of different shades of pink! Simply a gorgeous and pretty palette:

All shades are rather pigmented, although not as much as the shades found in their Sugar & Spice palette. I found that some of the shades had quite a bit of fall out but transferred onto the skin very nicely. For a more intense shade, reapplication will be necessary though, particularly on darker skin tones.

Like the other MR palettes, each one of these sell for £6.00 which is great value for the amount of shades that you get as well as the overall colour pay-off. They’re also super handy when travelling as their slim packaging barely takes up any space.

Make Up Revolution Blush Palette Series: Sugar & Spice

It’s already time for part 3 of the Make Up Revolution blush palette collection! How time is flying!

Along with Hot Spice, this palette is another of my favourites. Introducing to you the Sugar and Spice blush palette:

Like the others in the collection, this comes in a sturdy, glossy black box that comes in a matt black box that’s similar in design.

The great thing about these palettes is that they’re great for travelling with, or if you’re doing your make up away from home as they’ve got a great selection of shades (eight in total) and are very lightweight and don’t take up too much space.

This palette is great as it has different shades found in other palettes in the series. The peaches from the Hot Spice palette and the pinks from the ‘All About Pink‘ palette. A great choice if you can’t decide between the two or just love to have a varied mix in one palette.

Like the others, the shades are all highly pigmented and beautiful. The varied mix also makes it a great choice for many different individuals with different skin tones.

Also, if you’re looking for a super intense pink highlight then this palette definitely has it! Isn’t it such a pretty shade?

Another great palette from Make Up Revolution! Honestly, for such a low price, there really is no reason why you shouldn’t have one of these! Love them.

Any of you have this one too? What do you think of it?

Make Up Revolution Blush Palette Series: Hot Spice

Time for part 2 of the Make up Revolution blusher palettes from my recent MR haul!

Today I’ll be showing you my personal favourite from the whole set – The Hot Spice palette.

Just like the other blush palettes, this too contains 8 highly pigmented shades, 2 of which (the marbled shades) are also great as highlighters.

I love this palette as it offers a beautiful mix of pink and peach shades – my absolute favourites! These colours look great on all skin tones and can easily be built up further for increased intensity if needed.

The Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit

Remember that crazy contouring phaze? Yes, Kim Kardasian most definitely started it off. Everyone became obsessed with harsh contouring and numerous blogs and YouTube videos tried copying this look.

Amongst all this, one of the contour kits that really stood out was this one – the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit. I debated for a few weeks as to whether this was worth the money or not. Then of course, I eventually gave in.

Introducing to you the beautiful contour palette in Light to Medium:

Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit (Light to Medium)

Consisting of 6 wonderful shades: 3 for contouring (bottom row) and 3 for highlighting (top row).

Top Row, Left to Right:

  • VanillaA very pale shade with pink undertones – great for people with very fair skin.
  • Banana: This shade is a famous one in this palette! A pale yellow shade used mostly to highlight the under eye area. Although this is good, I have to admit that I have not replaced my MAC MSF powder in light.
  • Sand: Another light shade however one with warm, peachy tones in it. This is better suited for people with yellow or warmer skin tones.

Bottom Row, Left to Right:

  • Java: A brown shade that’s got cool undertones to it, which makes it great for sculpting if you’ve got darker skin.
  • Fawn: Another shade that’s great for sculpting the cheek bones. It’s a perfect balance of brown and taupe that gives a very natural shadow and definition. As it’s not too intense of a shade, it’s more suitable for those with paler skin tones.
  • Havana: A very warm toned brown that’s great for bronzing and gently warming up the skin.

The shades are all super smooth, buttery and pigmented. They blend like a dream and leave such a natural finish to the skin. It may not be the cheapest of palettes but I’m glad I got it.

That being said, I do believe that you can easily achieve the same looks with separate products that are much cheaper, however definitely worth trying out if you want to find everything in one palette.

Have you tried this? What do you think – is it overrated or worth trying?

Make Up Revolution’s Cheek & Lip Sticks

A couple of weeks ago, I had a major Make up Revolution blusher haul. These lip and cheek sticks were the first I started trying out, as they’re something different to the usual powder blushers that I use.

Firstly, these sticks are just great when you’re out an about. Want to touch up your blusher without having to carry a blush brush around? Want a pop of colours on your lips too? Just pop these in your handbag, top up using your fingers and you’re good to go.

I got four of these to try out: Malibu, Dream, Rush and Matte Dream.

Packaging: All these come in a glossy black tube stick that has a cap on top and twists the product up or down from the bottom.

Texture: These are all extremely creamy and hydrating. The glide on easily and also seem to be water resistant which is great is you’re using these as a blush on a very hot day. That being said, they cannot be left in the heat for long as they’ll melt slightly and get all messy (as seen in the last photograph!)

Application: The application of these could not be any easier. Whether using a brush, or just your fingers, the product can easily be applied quickly and effortlessly.

Cost: These sell for £5.00 each on the Make Up Revolution website, which is quite well priced for such a product. However, you can get entire palettes with 8 colours for just £1 more from the same site!

Verdict: These are quite nice but not really my favourite from the MR brand.

As a lip product, these do not work for me. As they’re so creamy, they end up forming a white line around the inner part of the lip which I hate, and they are also quite shimmery which is not what I like on my lips. The matte formula is much better but there is still the issue with creases and lines showing through.

However, as a blush, these work very nicely and are great for carrying around with you. They’re easily buildable and give a very pretty, subtle glow to the skin whether applied with your fingers, a stippling brush or a sponge. There’s quite a good choice of colour available to suit most skin tones and the website offers photo swatches that are quite close to the true colour. At just £5 each, you can’t really go wrong!
