Zoeva ‘En Taupe’ Eye Shadow Palette

For those of you who have been following my blog for a while, you’ll have noticed that I have a bit of an obsession with these Zoeva eye shadow palettes.

I started off with one, then I just had to have the whole set as they were so affordable…oops! I thought they were done, but then another one came out! How can you have an incomplete set?! This OCD is a problem ūüôā

So here is the latest in the collection,¬†Zoeva’s ‘En Taupe’ Eye shadow palette:

Zoeva's 'En Taupe' Eye Shadow Palette

Zoeva’s ‘En Taupe’ Eye Shadow Palette

Packaging: As with all the others in the set, this comes in a sleek cardboard packaging with an identical sleeve, weighing in only at¬†1.5g which makes it great for travel and doesn’t take up too much storage space.

I love the design of this one – a mixture of taupe shades with a cool line design that throws off gorgeous metallic colours when it hits the light.

Shades:¬†Ten beautiful shades, all creamy in texture and super soft and buttery to the touch. There are 4 matte shades and 6 shimmery shades. Let’s take a look in more detail shall we?

Top Row, Left to Right:

  • Stitch By Stitch:¬†A basic matte white that’s great for the base, inner corner or brow highlight.
  • Handmade: A stunning shimmery golden shade that’s perfect for adding some sparkle to the lid.
  • Gallery: A smoky matte medium taupe shade that’s great for both the base or as a transition shade.
  • Hour By Hour: A beautiful matte dusty pink shade. So pretty as a base and transition shade too.
  • Old Master: A subtle¬†grey that’s perfect for a soft smoky eye.

Bottom Row, Left to Right:

  • Spun Pearl: A super shimmery pearl shade that makes a great highlight.
  • Sheers & Voiles: Another shimmery shade in a soft light grey.
  • Outline: An intense metallic purple-taupe shade that’s perfect for the outer corner.
  • Wrapped in Silk: A deeper version¬†of¬†Sheers & Voiles – a pretty metallic dark grey.
  • Exquisite: A matte deep purple shade that’s one of my favourites.

Formula: All shades are soft and silky however I was a bit disappointed with the high amount of fall out. Also, not all shades are very intense, however these can easily be built up.

Cost:¬†Like all the others in the set, these retail at only¬†‚ā¨17.50.

Verdict: I really like this, however I would have preferred less fall out. That being said, I found the shades to be rather unique and just love the colour combinations that can be made with this.

Sparkle with Zoeva Pigments!

I just love a bit of sparkle and the festive season is the perfect time to really take advantage of this!

The¬†Zoeva brand is well known for its marvellous make up brushes, but its make up is not to be forgotten either! The range isn’t extensive but it’s good and worth trying out.

This leads me to a couple of eye pigments that I purchased earlier on this year: Goldiva (bright gold), Bitter & Sweet (black with silver specs) and Champagne Beige (earthy brown with gold specs).

Zoeva Pigments: Goldiva, Champagne Beige and Bitter & Sweet

Zoeva Pigments: Goldiva, Bitter & Sweet and Champagne Beige (L-R)

Each of these lovely pots of sparkle weigh a mere 1.1g and come in a transparent container with a see-through lid; thereby making it easy to see which is which in your collection.

These are also all packed securely in a cute little cardboard box that has the shade name printed at the top.

Zoeva Pigments: Goldiva, Champagne Beige and Bitter & Sweet

Zoeva Pigments: Goldiva, Bitter & Sweet and Champagne Beige (L-R)

All three shades are highly pigmented and very long lasting. For increased staying-on power, an eye primer is recommended and also a bit of water or fix spray can be used when applying to the eye. Not only will this last longer but it will also intensify the colour.

Zoeva Pigments: Goldiva, Champagne Beige and Bitter & Sweet

Zoeva Pigments: Goldiva, Bitter & Sweet and Champagne Beige (L-R)

Each pot retails for¬†‚ā¨5.80 each and as they are so highly pigmented, a little goes a very long way which makes these last for ages.

I¬†love adding Goldiva to the inner corner or lid of the eye, Champagne Beige to the lid and Bitter & Sweet to the outer V or as an intense liner.¬†A super dramatic eye look that’s great for a night out!

We’re finally down to the last¬†eye shadow palette of my Zoeva haul! All have been extremely beautiful and great purchases and this one is no exception.

Another of my top favourites, the Cocoa Blend eye shadow palette is a gorgeous palette filled with a mix of gorgeous browns, purples and smoky colours.

Packaging: If you’ve read my last few reviews, you’ll know the deal for these. A slim and sleek, lightweight palette weighing in at just 1.5g. The palette comes packaged in a slip that’s identical in design and reflects the theme of the palette itself. This one just oozes sophistication with a¬†beautiful gold and chocolate packaging.

Zoeva's 'Cocoa Blend' Eye Shadow Palette

Formula: All ten powdered shades are super intense and pigmented. There is a bit of fall out but nothing too crazy. Great staying on power that can always be intensified further with their pearl or matte eye primers.

Cost:¬†All Zoeva palettes currently sell for¬†‚ā¨17.50 which is an awesome price for the quality and quantity of shades you’re getting.

Verdict: Another one that I really love and definitely in my top 3 (amongst Rose Golden and Naturally Yours). The shades are just ones that I love using as I feel they compliment most eye colours and are great all year round Рalthough would look really stunning in autumn and winter. I love the balanced mix of highlight, transition and deeper shades and feel that when combined, these all create the most beautiful of eye looks.

So there you go – that’s all my Zoeva eye shadow palettes! Which one was your¬†favourite?

Hang on in there everyone, we’re down to the last two of the eye shadow palettes from my recent Zoeva haul! … And this is most definitely one of my all-time favourites!

This Rose Golden eye shadow palette is as beautiful as can be. Gorgeous golden and cool toned shades that create the most stunning of eye looks.

Zoeva's 'Rose Golden' Eye Shadow Palette

Zoeva’s ‘Rose Golden’ Eye Shadow Palette

Packaging: A very thin and lightweight (1.5g) cardboard palette that closes magnetically and comes in a slip cover of the same design. This is also one of my favourites from the outside, as well as the inside. I love the sophisticated look of the rich brown colour and the beautiful, golden designs the cover it. So pretty!

Shades: Ten beautiful shades, three of which are matte and the others are shimmery. A mixture of both warm and cool toned shades that I found to be all so beautiful and elegant.

In more detail:

  • Shining Bright:¬†A shimmery mid-tone purple shade that’s super beautiful and one of my favourites.
  • Rusty Petals: A mid-town brown with a lot of sparkle.

Bottom row, Left to Right:

  • Foil: A delicate and really pretty shimmery pale golden-champagne¬†shade.
  • Just a Rose: A super intense role gold shade that really makes a statement.
  • Golden Rule: A beautiful crisp golden colour full of shine and shimmer.

  • Wonder Full: A matte, black that’s a bit washed out. Great for adding depth but in a subtle way.
Zoeva's 'Rose Golden' Eye Shadow Palette

Zoeva’s ‘Rose Golden’ Eye Shadow Palette

Formula: Like most of the other palettes, these are all quite pigmented without too much fall out. They feel quite buttery to the touch and translate well onto the skin once applied. For even more intensity, a primer can be applied and Zoeva’s matte or pearl primers do a great job for this.

Cost: This is selling for¬†‚ā¨17.50 on the Zoeva website and really is a great price, especially when considering the number and intensity of shades available.

Verdict: Definitely a huge favourite of mine. Not only from the Zoeva palettes, but from all eye shadow palettes that I own. The shades are all so beautiful and unique and create such a great range of shades that are soft, feminine, yet also striking.

What’s your take on this one?

Zoeva’s ‘Smoky’ Eye Shadow Palette

Time for another Zoeva eye shadow palette review! Just two more left – and these last three are definitely top favourites!

Introducing to you,¬†Zoeva’s ‘Smoky’¬†eye shadow palette. This palette is just gorgeous and perfect for creating soft, to super intense smoky eyes. It’s also been classed as a dupe for Urban Decay’s Smoky palette – for those that have it, would you agree?

Zoeva's 'Smoky' Eye Shadow Palette

Zoeva’s ‘Smoky’ Eye Shadow Palette

Packaging: A 1.5g sleek, cardboard palette that fits in a sleeve, identical to the palette design itself. It opens upright to reveal 10 beautiful shades, protected by a thin plastic film, and closes back down magnetically.

The design of this, like all the other palettes in the collection, is inspired by the palette name itself. This ‘smoky’ palette in turn, has a deep, dark, grungy design to it that looks intense and mysterious¬†just as the shades found inside.

Zoeva's 'Smoky' Eye Shadow Palette

Zoeva’s ‘Smoky’ Eye Shadow Palette

  • Smoky Wishes: A deep plum colour that’s also matte. Great for defining the outer v.

Zoeva's 'Smoky' Eye Shadow Palette

Formula: All shades here are packed with pigment and do not disappoint. Only small amounts are needed, and it might even be worth tapping off any excess when using those darker shades.

Cost: Selling for¬†‚ā¨17.50 on the Zoeva website, I would definitely say that this is an incredible price for all that you are getting – the number of shades, colour pay-off and quality. It is one to try out if you love smoky and dramatic looks.

Verdict: I just love this palette and can’t wait to get more use out of it in the colder months. Obviously this can be used at any time, but at the moment I’m just loving super bright and summery shades. A gorgeous palette offering incredible shades that allow¬†for both subtle and intense smoky looks and don’t leave much fall out. Definitely one to try out!

Zoeva’s ‘Mixed Metals’ Eye Shadow Palette

We’re half way with these beautiful eye shadow palettes from Zoeva! ¬†I’ve been loving them all, especially getting to try out new colours that I haven’t normally used. However, the next four to come are probably my favourites (including¬†‘Naturally Yours which was reviewed a couple of months ago)

The next palette I’ll be reviewing is Zoeva’s ‘Mixed Metals’ palette.

Zoeva's 'Mixed Metals' Eye Shadow Palette

Zoeva’s ‘Mixed Metals’ Eye Shadow Palette

Packaging: All current Zoeva eye shadow palettes are lightweight, sleek, yet quite sturdy. Weighing in at just 1.5g, these cardboard palettes open upright and close magnetically. The palette itself is also packaged within a sleeve that’s identical in design to the palette itself.

This design for this palette is quite pretty – simple, yet interesting. It has gorgeous specs of metallic gold and silver which tie in nicely to the palette name.

Zoeva's 'Mixed Metals' Eye Shadow Palette

Shades: A beautiful mix of 10 shades (all shimmers, except 1) ranging from soft pinks and purples, to greens and grey. Perfect for soft and beautiful make up looks for any eye colour.

Top Row, Left to Right:

  • Alloy: A mid-tone muted purple shade. Beautiful as a soft base colour.
  • Neo Brass: A gorgeous yellow-based light green, with gold particles in it.
  • Bronce: A muted mid-tone green.
  • Rusty Steel: A gorgeous bronze shade.
  • Copper Plate:¬†An intense red-tone copper shade that;s just gorgeous. One of my favourites!

Bottom Row, Left to Right:

  • Warm Silver: A pretty pale pink colour – perfect as a base or for the inner corners.
  • Platinum:¬†This looks dark in the pan, but when blended out, it becomes a beautiful, shimmery champagne shade.
  • Ore Stone:¬†The most gorgeous shimmery aqua blue I ever seen!
  • Aluminum:¬†An intense, shimmery grey.
  • Onyx: An intense deep black colour. The only matte shade in the palette.
Zoeva's 'Mixed Metals' Eye Shadow Palette

Zoeva’s ‘Mixed Metals’ Eye Shadow Palette

Formula: All shades in this palette are super pigmented. There is some fall out, but nothing too crazy. They last quite well, however applying an eye primer will ensure that last that little bit longer. Zoeva have both pearl and matte eye primers, (for both shimmer and matte shades respectively) that work brilliantly and really intensify eye shadow colour and keep it on for that little bit longer.

Cost: Selling for¬†‚ā¨17.50 on the Zoeva website, and getting 10 shades of good quality pigment. Definitely worth checking out.

Verdict: This palette is just gorgeous! I love the pretty, soft pastel and earthy-toned shades. I feel that this palette has shades that really accentuate all eye colours with both the warm-toned and cool-toned shades.

Zoeva’s ‘Rodeo Belle’ Eye Shadow Palette

One great thing about my recent Zoeva eye shadow haul is that I’m constantly experimenting with new eye make up colours and looks that I’ve never tried before! Next in line to be reviewed is the¬†Rodeo Belle Eye Shadow palette!

Zoeva's 'Rodeo Belle' Eye Shadow Palette

Zoeva’s ‘Rodeo Belle’ Eye Shadow Palette

Packaging: The same as all the other eye shadow palettes from Zoeva (at this point in time). A lightweight 1.5g cardboard palette that opens upright and closes magnetically. The palette itself is packaged within a sleeve that’s identical in design to the palette itself.

This design for this palette is one of the least interesting ones from the whole set in my opinion – a mix of earthy colours that are blurred altogether. That being said, the colours found inside are a lot more interesting.

Zoeva's 'Rodeo Belle' Eye Shadow Palette

Zoeva’s ‘Rodeo Belle’ Eye Shadow Palette

Shades: This palette also consists of ten shades that are a mix of both shimmery and matte. The range of colours is rather varied, ranging from some basic neutrals to intense blues, greens and red.

Like with the others, each palette has themed shades that correspond with the particular theme of the palette itself. Check out these cool names:

Top Row, Left to Right:

  • Early Sunrise: A pale peachy matte colour that’s perfect for the base.
  • Rodeo Ready: A medium toned brown that matte and makes a great, natural transition shade.
  • Cactus Flower: A really pretty muted pink matte colour. Lovely for a soft eye make up look or also as a transition shade.
  • Western Diva:¬†An intense and shimmery dark brown with gold specks in it.
  • Bang Bang: This colour is super! An intense red¬†wine colour with a hint of pink and¬†a slight shimmer.

Bottom Row, Right to Left:

  • Yee Haw!: A highly shimmery medium toned blue.
  • Hot Wind: A gorgeous shimmery green – perfect for a spring look.
  • Smoking Gun: Another shimmery blue yet more intense and deeper that Yee Haw!
  • Day Money: A deep matte blue that’s a great alternative to a different type of smoky eye.
  • Deadshot:¬†Highly shimmery and intense – a deep purple with pink specks in it.
Zoeva's 'Rodeo Belle' Eye Shadow Palette

Zoeva’s ‘Rodeo Belle’ Eye Shadow Palette

Formula: The formula of these shadows are great! They’re all highly pigmented shades and don’t leave much fall out. With the darker shades, less is definitely more and need the excess to be tapped off before application, yet I find you can get away with this with the lighter shades. A well balanced mix of both matte and shimmer shades.

Cost: All¬†Zoeva palettes retail¬†for¬†‚ā¨17.50. Very reasonably¬†priced for the number¬†of shades available and definitely worth experimenting¬†with.

Verdict:¬†Although not my favourite from the whole set, it is still a¬†pretty palette with interesting shades. Of course, I love the neutrals, especially that gorgeous matte pink! The green is also really lovely yet the red and blues are definitely new shades for me. I spent some time trying to experiment with them but am yet to feel fully confident in such shades. However, they’re great for small details like lining or the outer corners.

What are your thoughts on this palette?
