Nars Audacious Lipstick: Deborah

The winter season is now in full swing (despite still some sunny and warm days here) and now that the festive season is over it’s time to put aside the red lipsticks, just for a little bit, and move on to other winter colours.

Having been very MAC lipstick obsessed the last two years, I really wanted to try out some other brands as soon as I saw this beautiful colour on Annie’s Beauty, I just knew I had to have it.

Introducing to you, Nars Audacious Lipstick in the shade Deborah.

Packaging: A sleek matte black 4.2g tub that closes magnetically and has ‘Nars’ written in glossy black around the bottom part. This is enclosed nicely in a matching cardboard casing.

Shade & Texture: The lipstick itself is just gorgeous – I love how perfectly the brand name is written on it too. A gorgeous vampy, rich brown shade that’s matte, yet not drying on the lips and super long lasting.

This shade may not be for everyone, but I definitely believe it does look great on all skin tones. True, it is very daring, however the intensity can easily be built up or toned down as needed.

For a really intense shade, wear by itself or with a lip liner underneath, and for a more subtle look, dab off excess product and pop on some clear gloss. Gorgeous either way!

Cost: Nars lipsticks do not come cheap and retail around €33 with shipping. That being said, the colour intensity and longevity just make it so worth it!

I love this! Such a unique shade that really is worth trying out if you’re looking for something a little bit different!

Forgotten Lipsticks: Lose or Reuse? #1

Along with blushers, lipsticks are my major downfall. I just love how they can instantly transform any look!

Needless to say, over the past couple of years I have accumulated quite a few, and unfortunately some end up getting forgotten and abandoned!

So I got searching and picked out a few that I haven’t used in a while – I got thinking to myself, would I bother to use these again or not?

Here they are: my Lime Crime, NYX Black Label, YSL, Avon and Milani!

Forgotten Lipsticks: Lose or Reuse?

I went crazy over Lime Crime about a year ago. The packaging was original and cute, and the formulas were so creamy and pigmented. I won’t be speaking about the whole Lime Crime scandal here – it’s irrelevant as they’ve already been purchased.

Although I won’t be re buying from this brand, I did fall in love again with Coquette and Geradium. Today I see Great Pink Planet as being a bit too bright for me.

Ahh the NYX Black Label lipsticks! So affordable, highly pigmented and creamy – I can remember clearly why I love these and to be honest, not quite sure why I stopped using them. As they are so creamy, lips do need to be exfoliated before as colour can settle in creases, and excess to be blotted away, but other than that they are just so beautiful.

I’ve fallen back in-love with India and Nude again – however not too sure about That 70’s Pink – not feeling too daring lately!

Lastly, a mix of three different brands. The YSL one is back in my handbag because I just love everything about it! It does appear a bit more brown than it is in person really, but it’s just a gorgeous nude that suits everyone. Unfortunately the name has rubbed off on this one 😦

Flirt from Avon is fantastic too! Super natural and pretty – love it! Sangria is a colour I’ve kept away from lately as I’ve gone back on nudes, however it’s definitely a colour I’d like to reuse during the colder months. All three are super creamy and pigmented too!

So I’m left wondering to myself – how have I forgotten most of these?! Will definitely be getting these back into my daily make up looks.

What do you thin of these? Do you occasionally bring out and reuse your old make up?

For those of you who don’t already know – I am a massive MAC lipstick fan! So when my cousins got me this lovely lipstick as a present, I was over the moon and couldn’t wait to try it out! I’d heard so much great stuff about it. So does it live up to the hype?

Introducing to you, one of MAC’s classic red lipsticks, MAC Ruby Woo

Colour: This is without a doubt, one of the most gorgeous red’s you will come across. A deep, blue toned red that suits any skin tone (& also makes your teeth appear whiter!).

Formula: This is a matte formula and is one of the driest of the matte range. If your lips are already dry then it’s highly recommended that you exfoliate the lips first and then moisturise them. Remove excess lip balm before applying.

Lasting Power: The great thing about mattes is that they last for ages. You’ll get a good 4-6 hours wear from this when eating and drinking.

Price: Mac lipsticks retail for around £15.50 at the moment.

Verdict: Most definitely a very beautiful lipstick that’s truly luxurious and makes you feel ultra sophisticated when wearing it. A classic red that can never go wrong. This definitely lives up to its name.

Ebay’s ‘Me Now Generation II’ Long Lasting Lip Glosses

I love wearing lipstick, but could really do without the re-application every once in a while! So when I saw multiple YouTubers rave about these long-lasting lip glosses, I just had to try them out!

Firstly, some brief product info if you’ve never heard of these before: These ‘Me Now – Generation IIlong lasting lip glosses can be found on Ebay from various sellers, usually all from China and sell at ridiculously cheap prices (approx. €1.20 each). The range is quite varied and currently there are 36 different colours to choose from.

The term ‘lip gloss’ is to be used lightly, as when dry these actually look and feel like a matte lipstick. Also, these do not budge so are definitely great if you’re looking for something long lasting.

Me Now Long Lasting Lip Glosses

Packaging: The packaging of these is pretty standard really, however that’s to be expected for the price that you are paying. Each lip product weights about 4.4g and all come with a doe foot applicator.

Texture: All of these are quite pigmented and creamy in consistency. The only exception from the ones I have is number 10 as it’s quite sheer, however the others are all very deep in colour tone.

Me Now Long Lasting Lip Glosses

Texture: All are super creamy and relatively thick, however they are easy to apply on the lips and do not feel heavy.

Application: For long lasting lip glosses, these are quite easy to apply. They glide on easily, however they do dry quite quickly so you do need to move a bit fast, however it’s quite manageable really.

Just some tips:

  1. Do exfoliate your lips very well beforehand.
  2. After exfoliating, do moisturise and let the product seep into the lips.
  3. Before applying the lip gloss, dab off the excess lip moisturiser as this will cause the lip product to rub off.

Shades: From left to right:

  • 26: A pretty peachy pink colour that I love wearing for work.
  • 18: A stone coloured nude that’s got a slight pink based to it. It’s meant to be a dupe for Limecrime’s Velvetines dupe in Cashmere. One of my favourites!
  • 10: The least pigmented of all the ones I’ve got but very pretty nonetheless. A cute nude peach shade.
  • 02: A gorgeous deep toned pink.
  • 20: A lovely toned down red with a hint of pink in it.
  • 30: A very deep brown colour. It may not look the most attractive when swatched, but this really looks gorgeous if you’re looking to try a different type of brown lip.
  • 04: A pretty pink that’s vibrant but not too shocking.
  • 19: A muted coral that’s super sweet and looks great for the warmer months.
  • 09: A pretty, orange based red. Love this for Summer!
  • 05: A stunning deep, blue based red – great for making your teeth look really white!

I’m really loving these lately! I love the large range of shades they have and really like that they are super long lasting! That being said, my lips tend to get a bit dry so I always pop on a bit of lip balm on top once it’s dried. This does tend reduce the longevity of the lip colour, however they still last relatively long – about 5 hours with eating and drinking. Quite good if you ask me!

Have any of you tried these? Which are your favourites?

Too Faced – Perfect Lips

I’m just obsessed with Too Faced!

Not only do they have the most amazing and fun packaging, but in my opinion, their products really are worth all the hype.

I’ve got three lip liners from their product range that I’ve just been loving lately.

Introducing you to Too Faced – Perfect Lips, Lip Liner in Perfect Nude, Perfect Pink and  Perfect Red. There’s also Perfect Spice and Perfect Berry in the range that I currently don’t have.

What’s so great about them? All are super thick and creamy, extremely smudge proof and keep lipstick staying on for so much longer.

Too Faced Lip Liners

Too Faced Lip Liners

Perfect Nude: A beautiful nude colour that’s a bit mauve as well.

Perfect Pink: A pretty mid-tone pink that creates a perfect base for most shades.

Perfect Red: A gorgeous, deep, blue-toned red that’s just perfect for a dark red lip – guaranteed to keep it on all evening, even when eating or drinking.

Too Faced Lip Liners

Too Faced Lip Liners

Where do I get these? I can’t get Too Faced where I’m from and I don’t think they deliver either, so I ended up buying these from Amazon UK.

How much are they? These sell for about $17.00 on the Too Faced website, however on Amazon these can vary depending on the seller. When I bought all three, they each sold for £15 each.

Final Say? I really like these as they’re all great shades that match up with various lipstick shades. Apart from that, I really found that my lip colour stayed on for so much longer than usual (I applied these all over the lip and not just as a liner) and less touch ups are always a good thing!

Do you have any of these? Which is your favourite?

Kylie Jenner Lips with MAC Stone

I’m not really a fan of the Kardashians, but I have to admit – I just love their make up!

A couple of months back, Kylie Jenner stole the limelight with this amazing make up look and lip colour that everyone was talking about. Do you remember it?

Kylie Jenner Make Up

Kylie Jenner Make Up

The internet was buzzing about this make up look and YouTube went crazy with Kylie Jenner Make Up looks. Suddenly, everyone wanted to have lips like hers – not just the fullness of them, but also that exact lip colour.

I couldn’t help it! I went online and looked at videos on how to recreate this look! There were various lip products that were mentioned for this, but the two that were continuously mentioned were the MAC Lip Liner in Stone and the Lime Crime Velvetines in Cashmere.

For months, these two products seemed to be sold out everywhere! However, finally I managed to get a hold of the MAC Lip Liner in Stone.

MAC Lip Liner - Stone

MAC Lip Liner – Stone

Packaging: Like all MAC Lip Pencils, these come in a sleek, matte black packaging with the colour marked and written at the tip. The pencil is one that can be sharpened, and is about 1.45g in weight.

Colour: A beautiful earthy toned colour that has a slight grey tinge to it.

MAC Lip Liner - Stone

MAC Lip Liner – Stone

Texture: This shade is very pigmented and glides on the lips effortlessly. I also find it to be quite long lasting.

Application: This works perfectly as a liner by itself or else as a base for a similar coloured lipstick to be applied on top.

MAC Lip Liner - Stone

MAC Lip Liner – Stone

Price: I got this from a MAC store for €18. You can also get this directly from the MAC website at £12.50, however unfortunately, this has been out of stock for ages.

Verdict: I really like this and glad I finally got a hold of it! Although, lip products don’t look the same on everyone, I found this to be quite a good match to the lip colour of Kylie.

It also works really well with earthy toned and brown lipsticks; so even if you’re not after the Kylie Jenner look, this will work really well if you like these type of lipstick colours.

Red Lipsticks for the Festive Season

With the festive season now in full swing, I’ve dug out all my red lipsticks hoping to make the most of them in the next coming days!

Digging out a specific type of make up or colour is always fun to do as your bound to discover something you’ve forgotten! I couldn’t remember half of these! Will be fun trying them out again after so long.

Red Lipsticks for the Holidays

Red Lipsticks for the Holidays

MAC Lady Danger – A lipstick that’s matte but still creamy on the lips and stays on well. A beautiful bright red lipstick with an orange undertone to it that complements most skin types. One of my favourites.

Inglot 127 – A classic red that’s vibrant and highly pigmented. I love how this just glides on. The formula is super smooth and moisturising.

MAC Russian Red – A sexy deep red lipstick that’s another matte which is also creamy. Makes a stunning bold lip.

Nina Ricci Rouge-À-Porter – This was probably the first red I ever got. I remember being so scared to wear it! Now it’s another one of my favourites. A gorgeous red that has a slight deep berry tone to it. It’s a satin formula but is super smooth and silky, and lasts for hours. Even when it starts wearing off, it leaves a beautiful tint on the lips.

Max Factor Lipfinity 120 Hot – Love the lipfinity range! Having your lipstick lasting for hours and not marking on your coffee cup – always a winner! A beautiful mid-tone red that’s great for both a casual or smart look.

MAC Diva – A super sexy, sultry deep red that’s also a bit vampy. Was a bit scared of this at first but I’ve grown to love it. Definitely makes a statement!
