Sparkle with Zoeva Pigments!

I just love a bit of sparkle and the festive season is the perfect time to really take advantage of this!

The Zoeva brand is well known for its marvellous make up brushes, but its make up is not to be forgotten either! The range isn’t extensive but it’s good and worth trying out.

This leads me to a couple of eye pigments that I purchased earlier on this year: Goldiva (bright gold), Bitter & Sweet (black with silver specs) and Champagne Beige (earthy brown with gold specs).

Zoeva Pigments: Goldiva, Champagne Beige and Bitter & Sweet

Zoeva Pigments: Goldiva, Bitter & Sweet and Champagne Beige (L-R)

Each of these lovely pots of sparkle weigh a mere 1.1g and come in a transparent container with a see-through lid; thereby making it easy to see which is which in your collection.

These are also all packed securely in a cute little cardboard box that has the shade name printed at the top.

Zoeva Pigments: Goldiva, Champagne Beige and Bitter & Sweet

Zoeva Pigments: Goldiva, Bitter & Sweet and Champagne Beige (L-R)

All three shades are highly pigmented and very long lasting. For increased staying-on power, an eye primer is recommended and also a bit of water or fix spray can be used when applying to the eye. Not only will this last longer but it will also intensify the colour.

Zoeva Pigments: Goldiva, Champagne Beige and Bitter & Sweet

Each pot retails for €5.80 each and as they are so highly pigmented, a little goes a very long way which makes these last for ages.

I love adding Goldiva to the inner corner or lid of the eye, Champagne Beige to the lid and Bitter & Sweet to the outer V or as an intense liner. A super dramatic eye look that’s great for a night out!

Recent Favourites #1

Every now and again, I get stuck on a couple of products that I just love and stick to them for a while. I guess this is rather common though, which is ironic for beauty lovers who always wants to buy new things. Go figure!

So, here’s what I’ve been using lately:

Recent Favourites: Milani, Mac, YSL, Nars, Jordana & Phito Studios

Recent Favourites: Milani, Mac, YSL, Nars, Jordana & Phito Studios

For my base, I’ve really been loving the Nars All Day Luminous Weightless foundation in Medium One, Punjab. Till now this is definitely one of my all time favourites. Super lightweight, yet such good coverage without needing much product. If you love a flawless finish, this one’s for you.

My outbreaks have finally almost all gone, however I’m still turning to MAC’s Studio Finish Concealer in NC30. It’s thick, yet not cakey and covers imperfections really well. Not recommended for the under eye area though – might be too heavy and crease.

After many years, I’ve once again, gone back on to loose powders. I really use to dislike these, however we’ve been using these a lot throughout the make up course and I have to admit, they really do make all the difference. If applied with a powder puff, you’ll notice a significant increase in make up lasting time! Definitely give it a go to see.

I’ve been using Phito Studio’s Rice Powder in number 6. It adds a bit of colour to my complexion and make up doesn’t budge for hours.

For eyes, I’ve gone back on Jordana’s Best Lash Extreme Volumising Mascara. I like this cause it’s super black, and really lengthens and thickens out the lashes.

I’ve fallen in love again with my Milani blushers. I mean, how could you not? These are beyond beautiful, highly pigmented, long lasting and so affordable!

I like mixing the two shades: Deliciozo Pink on the apples of my cheeks, and Luminoso over the cheek bones, blending everything in together.

With lipsticks, of course there is MAC. Once again I’m loving Blankety, a really cute pink shade (it came across a bit darker in the photo – see here for more swatches).

Any of you tried these? What are your current favourites?

Make Up Revolution Blush Palette Series: Sugar & Spice

It’s already time for part 3 of the Make Up Revolution blush palette collection! How time is flying!

Along with Hot Spice, this palette is another of my favourites. Introducing to you the Sugar and Spice blush palette:

Like the others in the collection, this comes in a sturdy, glossy black box that comes in a matt black box that’s similar in design.

The great thing about these palettes is that they’re great for travelling with, or if you’re doing your make up away from home as they’ve got a great selection of shades (eight in total) and are very lightweight and don’t take up too much space.

This palette is great as it has different shades found in other palettes in the series. The peaches from the Hot Spice palette and the pinks from the ‘All About Pink‘ palette. A great choice if you can’t decide between the two or just love to have a varied mix in one palette.

Like the others, the shades are all highly pigmented and beautiful. The varied mix also makes it a great choice for many different individuals with different skin tones.

Also, if you’re looking for a super intense pink highlight then this palette definitely has it! Isn’t it such a pretty shade?

Another great palette from Make Up Revolution! Honestly, for such a low price, there really is no reason why you shouldn’t have one of these! Love them.

Any of you have this one too? What do you think of it?

2016: Make up brands I want to try out

I just can’t believe that the year is nearly over, do you?! It feels almost like yesterday that I said the same thing a year ago. Honestly, where does the time go?!

So anyway, lately I got to thinking about what beauty brands I definitely need to try out next year. There have been numerous products I’ve been dying to try, but for the sake of keeping this post at a reasonable length, I’ll just be mentioning the brands here and then do separate posts on a products list later on once it’s been complied!

So, without further adieu; here are brands I must try out next year:

Tom Ford Beauty Hourglass Charlotte Tilbury Napoleon Perdis Makeup Geek

  • Tom Ford: Annie from Annie’s Beauty got me lusting over these! [Thanks Annie! ;)] I’m just impressed at what gorgeous lipstick shades they have? Just incredible! Also, the packaging is just divine!
  • Hourglass: I’ve been seeing their gorgeous highlighter palettes everywhere and they look just so beautiful. The packaging and product itself look so unbelievably beautiful. It was love at first sight.
  • Charlotte Tilbury: I really don’t know where to begin with this brand! The lipsticks, the blushers, that amazing sculpting palette…. Everything is just exquisite. Must.Have!
  • Napoleon Perdis: I have to admit, I don’t know much about this brand but from what I have seen on beauty vlogs, their base products look just lovely an leave skin looking just gorgeous and flawless. Definitely a brand to look into further.
  • Makeup Geek: I can’t believe I haven’t tried this yet either! A lot of the stuff looks just great but it’s the eye shadows that have caught my eye. Such varied and intense coloured shades. Can’t wait to try these out!

Have any of you tried anything from these brands? What would you recommend?

Also, let me know what new brands you want to try for 2016! 🙂

What’s in my Bag? (Evening #2)

Hi Everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend.

I had a colleague’s wedding so it was great opportunity to get all dressed up! Today, I’ll be showing you my bag and what I packed in it for the evening.

Lately, I’ve been doing my very best to keep the number of items to a minimum. It’s been easy to achieve for evening events, however my day bags still need a good clean out!

The Bag – DiorWithout a doubt, my favourite evening handbag ever. I bought this after much debate as a form of ‘retail therapy’ when feeling very broke after buying a home with my boyfriend. Contradictory, I know. However, it will probably be the first and last pricey handbag I will ever buy. Beautiful and just oozing sophistication – a gorgeous piece that’s great for a special event.

Concealer: One of my favourites lately, MAC’s studio finish concealer in NC30. A fantastic consistency with superb long-lasting coverage. Definitely on par with my other favourite from Nars.

Powder: Nars pressed powder in Beach. I just love this! It gives a subtle colour, adding warmth and high coverage whilst keeping make up in place. Cheaper products do a similar job but this mirror it comes with is handy when out and about.

Brush: My skin is a bit dry at the moment so I got a small brush that I usually use for highlighting just to powder the t-zone if needed. The Sigma tapered highlighter F35 brush is perfect for this too. Great quality and lovely, soft bristles.

Eye Pencil:My favourite eye pencil so far, MAC’s ‘Engraved’ black eye pencil. It’s super black and intense and stays on all night with minimal touching up needed.

Lipstick: After my recent clear out of lipsticks, I fell back in love again with Milani’s Sangria. A gorgeous, deep plum colour that’s super sultry and long lasting. The great thing about it is that it isn’t drying on the lips, and fades evenly leaving a nice berry shade.

Lip Balm: I’m always carrying around lip balm lately and Vaseline is always one of my favourites. Extremely hydrating and long-lasting, these always get the job done.

Make Up Revolution Blush Palette Series: Hot Spice

Time for part 2 of the Make up Revolution blusher palettes from my recent MR haul!

Today I’ll be showing you my personal favourite from the whole set – The Hot Spice palette.

Make Up Revolution Blush Palette in Hot Spice

Just like the other blush palettes, this too contains 8 highly pigmented shades, 2 of which (the marbled shades) are also great as highlighters.

I love this palette as it offers a beautiful mix of pink and peach shades – my absolute favourites! These colours look great on all skin tones and can easily be built up further for increased intensity if needed.

From the below swatches you can see how highly pigmented these gorgeous shades are! For only £6 per palette, one definitely cannot argue what great value for money this is!

Forgotten Lipsticks: Lose or Reuse? #1

Along with blushers, lipsticks are my major downfall. I just love how they can instantly transform any look!

Needless to say, over the past couple of years I have accumulated quite a few, and unfortunately some end up getting forgotten and abandoned!

So I got searching and picked out a few that I haven’t used in a while – I got thinking to myself, would I bother to use these again or not?

Here they are: my Lime Crime, NYX Black Label, YSL, Avon and Milani!

Forgotten Lipsticks: Lose or Reuse?

Forgotten Lipsticks: Lose or Reuse? Lime Crime, NYX, YSL, Avon & Milani

I went crazy over Lime Crime about a year ago. The packaging was original and cute, and the formulas were so creamy and pigmented. I won’t be speaking about the whole Lime Crime scandal here – it’s irrelevant as they’ve already been purchased.

Although I won’t be re buying from this brand, I did fall in love again with Coquette and Geradium. Today I see Great Pink Planet as being a bit too bright for me.

Limecrime Lipsticks: Coquette, Big Pink Planet & Gerdanium

Ahh the NYX Black Label lipsticks! So affordable, highly pigmented and creamy – I can remember clearly why I love these and to be honest, not quite sure why I stopped using them. As they are so creamy, lips do need to be exfoliated before as colour can settle in creases, and excess to be blotted away, but other than that they are just so beautiful.

I’ve fallen back in-love with India and Nude again – however not too sure about That 70’s Pink – not feeling too daring lately!

NYX Black Label Lipsticks: Nude, India & That 70's Pink

Lastly, a mix of three different brands. The YSL one is back in my handbag because I just love everything about it! It does appear a bit more brown than it is in person really, but it’s just a gorgeous nude that suits everyone. Unfortunately the name has rubbed off on this one 😦

Flirt from Avon is fantastic too! Super natural and pretty – love it! Sangria is a colour I’ve kept away from lately as I’ve gone back on nudes, however it’s definitely a colour I’d like to reuse during the colder months. All three are super creamy and pigmented too!

YSL Rouge Pur Couture, Avon Colour Trend Flirt & Milani SangriaYSL Rouge Pur Couture, Avon Colour Trend Flirt & Milani Sangria

So I’m left wondering to myself – how have I forgotten most of these?! Will definitely be getting these back into my daily make up looks.

What do you thin of these? Do you occasionally bring out and reuse your old make up?
